About me

Jasmine Allen is an actor, filmmaker, and entrepreneur from Chicago, Illinois. She began her arts education studying acting, dance, and voice at Maywood Fine Arts. Furthering her theatre education as a high school student at Chicago Academy for the Arts, she also studied Art History and Video Production. While in high school, Jasmine volunteered as a camera operator for Rock of Ages Baptist Church in Maywood, Illinois. Jasmine earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Television, Film, and New Media from San Diego State University. During her time at San Diego State University, she performed as Juliet in the university’s touring production of Romeo and Juliet; and as Bulrusher in New Village Arts Theatre’s regional premiere production of Bulrusher  in Carlsbad, California. She studied acting at Steppenwolf School through California State University, Fresno. Jasmine volunteered as a filmmaker for the San Diego Media Arts Center Environmental Health Coalition initiative. She directed and produced short films as a student, and interned for State Street Pictures in Los Angeles. 

Jasmine started her own production company, Imagine a Rose LLC, where she produces video content for clients, and continues to produce short films. In an effort to contribute to the filmmaking community, the company recently launched, themontaj.com, an emerging Business to Business video production marketplace website.
